In considering the 2010
subscription year, the Geological Society of London has listened with interest
to the views of the library community. As a consequence, several significant
decisions have been made affecting pricing and availability of the Lyell
Collection and the Society's individual journal titles.
Key headlines are as follows:
§ Lyell Collection
Complete - 0% price increase (in fact, the price is coming down just a
to SP Plus, JGS Plus, QJEGH Plus and GEEA Plus will see their subscription
price CUT by 5%.
§ All components
of the Lyell Collection as well as Petroleum Geoscience will be online-only
§ Any subscriber
wishing to retain print may do so on payment of a 5% surcharge.
§ The differentiation
between "Current" and "Plus" subscriptions will be dropped - all SP, JGS,
QJEGH and GEEA subscribers will receive the same service and be given access
to the full archive.
§ Lyell Collection
Complete will include three new titles for the 2010 subscription year:
Scottish Journal of Geology, Proceedings of the Yorkshire Geological Society
and Petroleum Geology Conferences. These will all be included within the
standard price, without any increased charges payable.
